What Makes Ideal Age Fitness Different?
Energy, Not Exhaustion
The right workouts give you MORE energy—they don't steal what you've got left.
Metabolism Focus
It's not just a great workout. It's how you optimize muscle, blood flow, and all the other critical parts of a strong, resilient metabolism at 40+.
6 Week Plans with Built-In Accountability
These aren't random workouts thrown together just to crush you. They're trainer-crafted plans (with detailed tracking functions that supercharge your progress).
Hormones & Nervous System Protected
Our plans keep cortisol in check and your nervous system out of "fried" mode.
Inner Athlete, Unlocked
Real life requires more than just muscle—you need to train like the athlete you are. From mobility to agility to resistance training, Ideal Age Fitness plans are the missing link to functional fitness that lasts.
Training for Life, Not Just Looks
The mirror won't give you real, lasting confidence. What you're CAPABLE of will. (Bonus: when you feel good, you look good.)
The Truth: Most Fitness Content Is BS
Unfortunately, most online fitness content is either designed by
- 20-somethings with endless time and bulletproof joints;
- Lifelong fitness fanatics and folks with a genetic leg-up; OR
- Women whose job is spending hours upon hours in the gym.
That’s not helpful…or realistic.
We do need to train comprehensively.
We do need to challenge ourselves.
But we need to do it with workouts that respect our joints, our genes, and our time.
Even more so, we need workouts that respect our hormones and our nervous systems.
Our younger bodies could handle hard for the sake of hard. Our 40+ bodies deserve more respect.
They deserve a real plan, not just hard workouts.
And that starts with functional fitness…but not how we think.

I’ve received 3 comments on my buns in the last two weeks. One was from my husband but it was genuine 😂

Train Like The Athlete You Are
Even the influencers who “get it” promote weights, weights, weights as the key to functional fitness. But the truth is: resistance training isn’t enough.
Weights are great, but they’re just one piece of the Fitness at 40+ puzzle.
We need to lift weights, yes; but we also need to train balance, stability, agility, mobility, and power at the same time.
We need to train movements that translate (think: push, pull, twist, bend), not just “pick things up and put them down.”
THAT is true athleticism, and it’s what makes fitness count in the real world, and for real life.
You’ve got to be athletic to be “functional.”
That’s why I spent the last 2 YEARS alongside my amazing mentor and team creating the plans and programs that give us exactly what we need—so we can take this next chapter to the next level.
- WORKOUT PLANS & FITNESS ASSESSMENTS: Let's be honest. Athleticism is the goal, but *preparation* is the key to activating badass mode without risking injury. We provide a comprehensive self-assessment alongside more than a year's worth of 6-week fitness plans (with more on the way).
- VIDEO DEMOS FOR EVERY MOVEMENT: Every movement comes with a video demo—and it's Liz (who works out 2-3 times a week if she's lucky), not a 20-year-old gym rat or a career fit-fluencer.
- COMPREHENSIVE CALENDAR TRACKING: Accountability starts with the calendar! Your chosen program will automatically populate your app calendar and you'll get reminders straight to your email. Save workouts and track your progress daily.
- SHARE, SAVE & TRACK: Track your weight progressions, favorite movements, best workouts and beyond, and share with your friends and family for added community and accountability.
FAQs
What makes this app different from other fitness apps?
There are TONS of fitness apps that provide all kinds of options, but none of them are built for the real lives of busy, 40+ women who want to look good, feel good, AND be future-ready.
Ideal Age Fitness stacks the top 3 things women 40+ actually need:
-Smart resistance training
-Mobility & recovery
-Integrated athleticism
In the right order, at the right intensity, so your body gets stronger and better instead of more stressed. It’s the definition of “work smarter, not harder” and it’s built 100% by a 40+ woman (not an online fitness farm or a career fitfluencer), just like you, for YOU.
Is this app only for women over 40?
Short answer: no.
Long answer: anyone that wants lasting results, a body that’s as badass NOW as it is future-ready, and who cares about metabolism, strength, and longevity, is welcome here.
The app is primarily designed for women 40+ because that’s who Liz is and that’s who she creates for; and also because there’s no other demographic that’s being ignored on one hand (talk to me when you’re in menopause, they say) AND lied to on the other (all you need to do is lift heavy and sprint, they say).
We need comprehensive, realistic fitness that levels you up WHILE meeting you where you are. If that sounds good, welcome to the club!
How is this different from HIIT, Pilates, CrossFit, and Bootcamp Fitness?
Ideal Age Fitness focuses on what matters, not what’s trendy.
Don’t get us wrong, none of those modalities are BAD. The issues arise when the HIIT, Pilates, CrossFit, and Bootcamps are all you do, at the expense of the modalities that truly get you present-perfect AND future-proof.
HIIT without athleticism training is a recipe for injury.
Pilates alone won’t build the strength and bone density of weight training.
Too much CrossFit and Bootcamp Fitness is a stress hormone disaster.
For many of us, these serve or have served a purpose in our lives. But from the 40+ perspective, where we want to be badass now AND future-ready, the puzzle pieces look different. There’s a heirarchy of importance for us that doesn’t exist in your 20s.
For us, it’s all about preparation, multi-faceted athleticism, AND recovery.
Do I need a gym or extensive equipment?
Depending on the 6 week plan you choose (and you get access to them all with a membership), your equipment needs may be as simple as a set of resistance bands and an adjustable dummbell; they could also be as extensive as needing access to a full gym.
We’ve got multiple 6-week plans available, and we encourage you to keep an open mind: you may be dead-set on ONLY doing at-home programs, but once you complete our Athleticism Anywhere and Strength Anywhere 6-week plans, you might be ready and rarin’ to level up your home gym (or ready to join one).
How much time do the workouts take?
Workouts are designed to last approximately 1 hour (including warm-up and cool down), but once you find your rhythm, you may choose to get through them faster OR spend more time (for example, in warm-up or cool-down mode).
You might see “express” workouts being marketed to women who are short on time, but that’s truly just marketing: you don’t need a “special” time-saving workout, you just need to decrease sets OR eliminate the final accessory superset from any day’s workout. (Abs are fun, but we promise, they’re just icing on the cake.)
Is this good for beginners?
It depends. The app has a key fitness assessment that’s great for all athletes, whether you’re “in training” or not, as well as our signature “5 Minute Daily Fix” series that is perfect for all levels; we’ve also got several 6-week plans (Athleticism Anywhere and Strength Anywhere) that are GREAT for those easing back in to working out. However, if you’re looking for explicit coaching and cueing, we don’t supply that…yet.
We highly encourage ALL beginners to book a session with a personal trainer near them to get an in-person, thorough fitness assessment and to walk through key movement patterns in a collaborative environment.
Will this help me lose weight?
Here’s the truth about weight loss: it’s complicated. Anyone who tells you different is lying to you (and if you’re asking the question, chances are you’ve been disappointed by everything you’ve tried so far).
You can lose weight by losing muscle (that’s bad) or you can lose weight by losing fat (a much better strategy). Exercise can absolutely help you lose fat; but it’s also doing so many other amazing things, too: improving your strength, boosting your metabolism and cardiovascular fitness, and increasing your resistance to injury, to name a few. And these are ALL the pathways to becoming a badass NOW and staying one in the future.
If you want to lose weight, we suggest you seek guidance from a qualified practitioner who can work with you on food, stress, and lifestyle pieces; we’ve got the fitness piece covered right here.
How long before I see and feel results?
Most women feel better mentally within a single session. Most feel stronger, more energized, and less creaky within a few weeks. Changes usually show up in the mirror within 4-6 weeks.
The real magic, however, is in how confident and capable you’ll feel because you’re doing something for you.
Is it safe for me if I have joint issues, injuries, or perimenopause "stuff" going on?
Liz has had all of the above, and these are the exact programs she used to get stronger, feel better, and get off the fitness hamster wheel.
However, if you’ve got diagnosed joint issues or injuries or medical issues, you should always consult with a medical provider about your specific needs.
What happens after the free trial?
You’ll choose your membership and enter your payment information before starting your free trial. Once your trial is over, you’ll be automatically billed based on the membership you chose (monthly, 6 months, or yearly).
With all memberships, you have ongoing access to 6 week plans, mobility and recovery work, tracking tools, extras like discounts on Ideal Age products, and everything else we continue to add to the lineup.
You can cancel any time by shooting us an email at hello (at) idealage.com.
Remember, we do not prorate plans or memberships or refund partial memberships. So be sure to really dig in during your 2 week trial to ensure you want to stick around!
Why 6 week plans? If I get behind, what do I do?
We do 6-week plans because random workouts don’t build anything other than randomness.
A PLAN builds strength, skill, confidence, and consistency, and 6 weeks is a perfect timeline for creating true change.
If you want a one-off workout because you’re stressed about being able to commit to a plan, we get it! But we’re not here to feed you random heart-pumpers. We want you to grow your strength, support your metabolism, boost your athleticism, and SHOW UP for yourself. That takes more than a bunch of random, ad-hoc workouts!
If you get behind, you can either pause your plan, reschedule individual workouts in your app calendar, start with the most recent incomplete workout, no matter where it falls on the calendar, OR just start over.
By no means am I an athlete. Change my mind.
You ARE an athlete! You might just not be in training right now.
Look: living LIFE to its fullest requires athleticism. It requires that we can move, adapt, and rise to a million different occasions that don’t look like “fitness,” but that 100% are. (Ever tried to move a giant bag of dog food off the shelf, into the car, and into your home?)
Plus, feeling like the athlete you are—strong, confident, capable, and badass—is one of the best feelings there is!
You are NOT the Problem.
If you’ve been frustrated, burnt out, or disappointed by fitness approaches that leave you worse than you started, you are not the problem.
The programs are.
Women over 40 need to train comprehensively, but in a way we’ve never done before.
Ideal Age Fitness is the answer.
Let’s do this—together!
